Join CPT reservists as they share stories from their recent accompaniment visits to Line 3 and Wet’suwet’en Territory. We will share reflections on our experiences, and we will discuss what it means to each of us to show-up as settlers supporting struggles against the on-going violence of colonialism.
We will each share a short story from our experience; there will be a short break, and you are welcome to leave after the story sharing. After the break, we will get into four or five small open-space discussions (break-out rooms) where we will ask ourselves questions about the roles that settlers could take in our allyship, and in the work of creating a decolonized world in the present—of living Indigenous Sovereignty now.
Moderated by Rachelle Friesen; Ken Jones and Melody Shank will speak about their visit to Line 3; Steve Heinrichs and Emily Green will share about their visit to Wet’suwet’en territory (near Houston, British Columbia).
