From Turtle Island to Palestine: Understanding Settler Colonialism

April 29, 2020 | 17:00 CDT

Turtle Island and Palestine are thousands of miles apart. Yet despite their distance, their struggles against settler colonialism are similar. Our partners on Turtle Island and in Palestine experience surveillance, restriction of movement, checkpoints, military and police brutality, mass incarceration, displacement, theft and destruction of natural resources, and cultural erasure and appropriation. In this webinar, Rachelle Friesen (CPT’s Canada Coordinator) will be sharing her experiences of living in Palestine and on Turtle Island and use maps, stories, and political theory to help us unpack what the structure of settler colonialism looks like and how we can resist against it.

CPT Action is an initiative of Community Peacemaker Teams inviting activists, advocates and allies to take action for peace.
