Colombia: Virtual visit

july 11, 2021 - 2pm CT/BogotA

July 11, 2021

2 pm - 4 pm CT/Colombia

Visit emblematic landmarks around Barrancabermeja with CPT and understand why this city is at the heart of Colombia’s history of popular movements and how it still shapes the narrative of organizing and human rights movements nationally. Visit the new Women’s Museum with the Popular Women’s Organization and travel down the Magdalena River with us to the community of El Guayabo. Come, join us, visit us virtually to learn about the struggles for justice and human rights in the region and how they matter in the light of the recent protests post the 2016 peace agreement.

During the visit, you will learn about our partners, their activism, and their struggle for justice and a dignified life. After the visit, there will be time to ask our partners questions and hear directly from them during an hour of live interaction. Spanish/English interpretation will be provided.

With the current COVID-19 restrictions, we have had to reinvent how we work. Injustice and oppression did not stop with the virus, making it imperative that we continue to share voices of peaceful resistance struggles with you.

Suggested donations: USD 5 – 100 per person.

If you are joining us as a group, please donate accordingly.
